Runoffs

Darryl,

It appears that someone has highjacked your accounts both here and at MGEXP and switched your avatar 88-o

My compliments to the SCCA and Speedcast teams with the video and live feed on the internet! It was awesome to not only tune in and see the event, but also hear Dorsey Schroeder helping call the race!

Not sure why I am at work when all I am doing is watching SCCA Runoffs racing!

Bill

Just do what I did. Schedule a meeting and book a conference room and watch on the projector

It's nice that our office just updated all the rooms with 64" screen HDTV's. I think I set a record on # of voicemails received from 1:30-2:30! Great conference call everyone! :D

I have to reload the feed every 2-3 minutes or it will just lock up. happened both at work, home, and on my mobile- all different carriers, computers, web browsers, etc...

What an amazing FP race. I don't think I have ever yell at my computer screen so much and I work in IT.

Great race!

I'll leave the other stuff for others, but I thought Greg Creamer was really unprofessional. Yeah, we know Eric is your boss and probably your friend, but dude, save it for the formal process. The dude spouts off about a few who are 'SCCA royalty'...we (I) don't care, just call the race.

Also, did that Fiat come into FP with any changes from when it ran EP? That was the most lopsided classing I think we've seen all weekend.

Bob, cmon really? I think your opinion will change if look a little deeper. The announcers were the worst on this subject.

1. Lots of old EP cars are now in FP with similar or even better specs than in the E of old.
2. The Fiat runs the EXACT same engine and EXACT same spec as the very aerodynamic mid engine Lancia everybody loves to race with. How is this a misclassification?
3. It was prepared in a pro shop with the help of a 3 time Fiat National Champ and driven by a 2 time RO Fiat pole sitter. This family is the "Huffaker/Prather" of Fiats, not some Johnny come lately.
4. It was clearly set up to run in a straight line which is why it struggled in some of the twisty stuff. Additionally it has one of the worst brake packages in FP.
5. While fast, it STILL DID NOT post the fastest FP trap speed in qualifying sessions or the race.

I don't know any of these Fiat people but I do get a little riled up when just because an old car that is not a Spridget runs as it should the first assumption is that it must be misclassed. Production cars supposedly have a right to be competitively classed in our club, and nobody should be shocked when a car and effort like this is competitive. IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE.

Congrats to the whole FP field. What a great race. I was tired from just watching it and would watch it a dozen more times tonight if it was available. Really good show.
