Runoffs E Production 2011

It was a great show a skill. I always enjoy rain racing for the most part. It normally brings the underdogs to the top.

Soon to be available: Official Prod class, limited edition, Shammy on a Stick.

Just looked at the final results and yeah, Rob is listed as a DQ. That's awful. He had such a terrible week, and I was really happy to see him drive up onto the podium. Wonder what the issue was.

Congrats to the winners. Looks like Justin Pritchard showed why he has won National Championships in other classes. A dominate performance. The EP race would have probably been a barn burner if it had been dry.

entire race results: there was a total of 3 DQs - 2 SM and 1 EP

The man drama in Spec Miata was over the top ALL week. One of the DQ's were one of the regular guys constantly in the gray area & the other lost his license.

Justin has it in his, butt, hands, eyes, brain & when all is put together he feels the car & knows what to do with set up,

Deluge for the EP race. My brakes didn't work.

Big congrats to the front runners!

Coffey was way over compression.

Great runoffs though!

Was it for on-track contact?[/quote]

I heard one year suspension for exploits on and off track.

It would appear the infractions were for reckless, dangerous driving, unsportsmanlike conduct, contact -responsibility of overtaking?overtaken driver and something relative to the crankshaft. A 1 year suspension would seem appropriate.

On the link I posted (and you quoted), the reasons for the DQ are stated at the bottom of the page.
Car 44 - Disqualification, suspension of competition license for 12 months, exclusion from 2012 Runoffs - GCR 6.11.1.A,B,D & 2.1.4;2.1.7
Car 44 - Disqualification per Chief Steward - GCR 9.1.8.C.f.5
Car 78 - Disqualification per Chief Steward - GCR 9.1.8.C.4.a.1

Grab your handy-dandy GCR and look up those sections and you'll have your answers.

I was watching the SM race from T8 and the guy punted Drago sooooo blatantly it was pathetic. Drago took a semi defensive line and was clocked in the LR and spun out. He re-entered the course but was well back and off the pace. When we was about to be lapped, I wondered if he would repay the gesture in spades. Sadly for us spectators, he did not and took the high road. I don't think I would have been so.....careful.

I too was watching from the T8 perspective but my take was Drago took himself out by holding a central line and then moving left into the other car. Drago had left a lane open and the 44 car had a run on him. He was well alongside before contact occured.

As it has been said on the other forums, Jim squeezed "Gorilla", and was moving track right to carry speed through the corner. If the 44 conceded his spot, he would have been freight trained around the outside by 2nd-5th, and it looks like he chose not to let that happen. Nice and crafty race craft by the 02, but 44 didn't want to play by the rules.

Justice was served when the winner out drove the 44 to win, and had a legal car to boot. There is a lot of back ground drama with the 44 over the years in SM, but that's for a different forum and for other people to tell. To quote someone on a different forum "the man drama was an 11".

While watching in T5, I didn't see the original bump. But I did wonder if getting lapped might have been a "planned" move...
