Pueblo Invitational June 16-17

Not completely. Still no driving or anything that could put twist on my leg. So, the Norton is sitting idle along with the Husqvarnas and the race cars. However, Doc is trying to talk me into the Colorado trip and since he has my license.....

The Civic did not sell, couldn't give the thing away, so I might as well get it off the lift and drive it. OR I may just move to FP and drive the Del Slow. Undetermined at the point. Doc is supposed to let me know what we are doing by Monday.

That said, Jason come on out to the Hi country and we can have a manly meeting of the grocery getters and the girly car.

Wish we had the funds to make the trip, but I blew my discretionary budget building a pair of close-ratio Yaris transmissions. So the closest I will get to that part of the country was the quick little trip we made to MMP a few weeks ago for a Toyota video shoot.

Friday night, there's a drag race scheduled for the drag strip on the front straight. They usually put on a good show. In the past, some of us have entered and run that drag race just for fun. With my first gear I might be able to break into the 18s in the quarter.

Unfortunately, having the drag race Friday means the test day (not SCCA sanctioned) ends at 3:30 - and additionally the rig parking on Friday will be constrained to a smaller area than normal to give room for the drag racers to come and go.

You can see the restricted parking area on the last map in the supps. Doesn't look like the change affects where I normally park, but some may be affected. In any case there's plenty of room out there - just may be a little further from the grid than normal.

Doc looked at the swelling made me jump a couple of times poking & proding the bruised area and said, 'No Pueblo, maybe High Plains.'

Karl, any information available yet? Security, how late will track be open Sunday night after Pueblo?

Add me to the list of those going but not registered.

The rental day (Sunday) ends at 6:00PM but we'll have trouble clearing out that early - extra hours cost the Region $300.00 each.

Can't make the Pueblo Invitational. Mother-in-law passed away this week. She had lived next to us thus all relatives are coming to town, and then there's all the procedural necessities. Will be at HPR at end of June.

Bob, I was asking if HPR is an option to leave our rigs at, how late will they be open Sunday night.

Guy, sorry about your loss.

Paul, we are going to leave our trailer at PPIR only 30 minutes from Pubelo. We left it there after the PPIR race and Paul & Bob said we could also leave it after the Publeo race. HPR is a long way from Pubelo after racing all day so PPIR is better for us.

Guy , we will miss you, our deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Paul, I am glad you are coming, with Guy not showing up you are the only one i now have a chance of beating

Heard from HPR. They will be open on Monday after the event for parking anytime between 7am and 6pm. Rigs will park on the North side of the paddock. Track manager Glenn Cosner should be there Monday to coordinate where to park and there will also be a gate guard there to help.

If you need to park on Sunday, then PPIR is probably your best bet. As has been stated, HPR is about 150 miles from Pueblo, so plan accordingly.

Rumor has it that the drag races on Friday night are canceled- which is a good news/bad news thing as they are a good show, but are up pretty late.

Good to see 55 entries for the Invitational, more than our last National. I was hoping there would be more considering that Pueblo was just repaved and the track is one of the Divisions favorites.

I thought there may be more out of state entries with the High Plains Double National / Super Tour 2 weeks later. It would have been and easy 4 Nationals in 14 days.
