I've been here since Saturday and I'm starting to get stir crazy. And we're not on track until Thursday night at 5:45. Oh well. The car is ready except for putting the new tires on it.

The good news is that the prod party is tonight. But it looks like we might get wet. That's OK, we'll deal with it. So far we have almost $1500 in donations.

I'll update when I can.

Not many laps completed because of a black flag all, and then the session was checkered early when it was obvious that they would get everything clear in time.

I had assumed (incorrectly) that they'd let the FP cars go, wait a few seconds and then let us go. But they let us go immediately after the FP cars. As we're out at 5:45 local time, the sun was setting behind the bridge at T6. This made the drive up the hill damn near impossible as we were staring straight into the sun. The only thing I could see was when I was in the shadow of the tree line. SCARY.

It was a busy track with FP cars all over the place. An unknown Miata was parked drivers right in the carousel. Someone had spun at the apex of T5. The BFA was for Mason Workman as he barfed his motor HUGE right at the kink. I never got comfy and things were cut short by the BFA. We got maybe 14 minutes in before the BFA. I saw the flag at S/F and had to go all the way around. Oh well. We'll have a better chance tomorrow.

So how does everyone feel about the schedule now that we are 5 days into it? Like it or hate it?

Well, the live timing sux, and the reuslt page now has event news on it rather than the timing/grid sheets

But the good news is the Speedcast TV video quailty is much better than last year.

Intrepid reporter here, trackside during the EP race, Downing in the lead.

After the third qualifier

Mike Miller, 1275 Spridget, RA virgin, happy with car, going to change driver for the race.

Jack Shultz, 1098 Spridget, changing rear gear for the race, Bill Blust helping, Michele changing tires.

Rob Horrell, 1275 LP Bugeye, not a morning person, washing car.

Ron Bartell, 1275 Hybrid Spridget, having brake issues that put him into wall after the kink during Q3.

Brakke new leader in EP, actually the checker is waving he's won!

John Stanford, Spitfire, may have broken his suspension, left after 1st qualifier, could be back
for the race, this is 98% conjecture

Bob Eichelberger, 1275 Hybrid Spridget, 2 seconds faster in last qualifying but went 2 spots back. Running an interesting tire setup, currently sworn to secrecy. Big plug for Comptune engines (as he's handing Mike a check)

Tom Hannagan, 510, ignition trigger wheel problems, switched to distributor, wants bigger brakes.

Jay Griffin, CRX, RA virgin, been working with the rear suspension and it's improving, will be changing "stuff" for the race

Tim Pitts, Golf, car undercover, could not get a quote from the jackstand.

Will keep tring to get more info before tomorrow

More info

Tom Broring, Spitfire, going faster every session, adjusting vales for the race.

Andrew Wright, Spitfire, getting comfortable with the car, no changes

Dale Frame, Spridget, black flaged for tire rub, clearancing the fender and fixing a rear seal.

Matt Brannon, X19, after the anal probe/cavity search at tech he's waiting for jets for the carb.

Kent Prather wins GTL in a close 3 car finish, Lentz,Hargrove,Goodale,Zekert

last pre-race report

Mike Oringer, Scirroco, chased some silly problems, alt quit today but battery lasted a full session, nothing to change before the race.

William Trainer, Scirocco (don't ask me, neither is spelled the same on the entry list) transmission stuck in 3rd, made a change and all is good, second hand info from Albin.

Mike Moser, CRX, working back up to speed, no changes for the race.

Greg Gauper, Civic, wearing some funny looking Indian raindance headress, qualifyings been uneventfull, changing calipers and front rotors for the race. Did I mention his headress?

Jason Isley, Yaris, better motor and trans since last year, 15 inch Hoosier radials, no changes for race

Jamie Bestwick, Yaris, all of Isleys updates, race virgin at RA, but drove a Jeep arond some years ago, will be tweeting during the race on the straights, them Nascar guys got nothing on him!

Chris Albin, Golf, messed with rear sway bar, no changes for race.

Made last ditch effort to bribe Pitt's jackstand for a quote, but to no avail, sorry signing off for today.

Terrible race coverage with the interruptions and gaps in the commentary and visual coverage and delays.
Not the same for the ads , however. They were both clear and louder.
Any idea what is going on?
Were there any of these gaps apparent to anyonme with a upgraded subscription?
