How much would you pay...

We try to be accommodating to our guest.

Don't worry about the "Welcome to Texas, Now go home" bumper stickers. Those are for the Okies who come down to watch OU loose the football game.

Watch it, old man.......

I was wondering how long it would take you to respond.

(Did I ever tell you I got accepted to OU way back in the dark ages?)

+1 on that, Holmes. I'll refresh your memory on last years score....55-17 OU. And we've won eight the last twelve.

BOOMER SOONER!!

Hotel rates non F1 dates are pretty national standard. Bastrop is just under $100 normally. Main issue with Austin is it's the state capitol and there is something going on there almost all the time and you'd need to make reservations ahead of arrival. I've had to get rooms at Roundrock or San Marcos due to conventions.

An SCCA race wouldn't budge the hotel rates. Since this is a mutl-purpose venue other attractions might bump the room demand up somewhat.

edit: I paid $800 to run my '65 Mustang and do the practice day at Monticello in New York last month. That's a long pull and the total cost was equal to my Runoffs costs in the past. Stayed at a B&B.

Once we know for sure the date we will begin the search for a "HQ Hotel" and my crack negotiating team will attempt to reserve a block of rooms at a discounted price for both the workers and participants. They are normally able to secure a discount between 10 and 15%. (Don't count on the Airport Hilton but it won't be the hotel referenced above.)

I'm in if the entry fee is comparable to other doubles.

I'll bring the motorhome so hopefully they don't charge for that!!!

What do doubles run in your neck of the woods?

That is going to be close. I'm expecting to hear from the race chair soon and hope to be able to make a formal race announcement before the USGP.

James,

FYI, Looks like we may get the weekend after the convention and the Grand AM race at COTA. (which means I have to choose between my last trip to LV for the convention or staying and working the Grand Am race, dammit). When are you doing your Feb race?
