Should BoD or Runoffs Class Entrants Decide Waivers??

Sorry to piss people off. Reasonable people have the same opinion as I do..

The mutli race Championship make the most sense by far, open qualifying at three tracks, all in the month of Sept.

Thats a pretty bold statement with only 19 people commenting on a thread with 1983 users.

This is a slippery slope, why does person X get a waiver and person Y doesn't? It's easier to say no to everyone than yes to some and no to others.

From Peters post he doesn't sound that upset.

We all have stories about what it takes to do this. This year I broke on the first day of the July 4th Double and finished Sunday. 3 finishes, I could wait until Labor day or go to Miller or Hastings. Both further away and more cost than waiting and only going 100 miles. I went to Hastings so I had a fall back event Labor day in case things went bad at Hastings.

Last year a friend ran 3 double nationals and broke on 1 day each weekend including the labor day event, only had 3 finishes in 6 tries. Tried for a waiver and declined. Would have been an easy podium if not a win, still holds the overall track record at High Plains.

No easy answer.

This is a prime example of putting the cart before the horse. Next time there's an outrage, let's get the full story before passing along gossip.

Enjoy your fishing trip Peter!

Actually Dave Finch did not get a waiver from the BOD - he petitioned the Stewards of the Meeting with signatures from most of the competitors, not unamimous as I recall and they allowed him to run. I don't think you can do that now - ruleswise.
Its one of the few things the BOD has been firm on since I think successive BODs would have tremendous aggravation quantifying who should and shouldn't get a waiver
