Did you guys notice how few corner workers there were? Only two at most stations. And a bunch of stations were unmanned altogether. And this is MidOhio......its ALWAYS well staffed. Very concerning. :(

It's already been announced it will be the same weekend next year (weekend after Indy).

Good stuff!

Your windshield is remarkably fog free. What's your secret?

-Kyle
1 - It's a stock glass windshield, not Lexan. Glass seems to behave differently...
2 - Dawn dish soap applied to the inside.
3 - It's only clear on the passenger side. Driver's side (just out of camera view) didn't fog up, but it started to get very sudsy  and it was really hard to see the rivers & puddles. Normally I apply it to a dry windshield and buff it in to a light haze, but that morning it was cold and damp when I applied it. For Q2 I switched to Rain-X anti fog.
I've had issues with Rain-X anti-fog not working in really cold weather but it was warm enough in the second session for it to work. If I had electrical power in the paddock, I would have used a hair dryer to warm up and dry out the windshield first before applying...or applied it the night before. At the Runoffs I applied it the day before so it had time to dry.

The first H race was a lot of fun with all four of the front H cars leading. It was a surprise to me because I was in trouble with overheating and had radioed my crew that we weren't going to finish on the 8th lap while I was still in 3rd or 4th place. So I started short shifting and was surprised that I could hang in and the temps didn't get any worse.

Suddenly I found myself in first and able to keep Tom and Matt back there for a while. However, I went out on sticker tires and probably overheated them as eventually I started losing grip and had to do increasingly more drastic things to keep Tom behind me. When he finally got by I just tried to bring it home and just barely kept Greg back there as it was pretty sloppy.

We relocated the cooler and got the temps under control for the Sunday qualifying and could have done some damage on Sunday but I must have hurt the motor on Saturday so no fun for me. Don't know what went wrong or why I suddenly had temp problems. Bummer.

Congrats to Tom for both wins and good to see that Matt got the header fixed and got a well-deserved second on Sunday. Good clean racing with Greg, Matt and Tom. I wish all of the regular season races were anything like that.

P.S. - The Mid Ohio track and people were awsome.

Ron - I totally agree. The new ownership at the track is MUCH nicer than before, and the OVR region always puts on a great event. Thanks again to Kevin for securing us our own group!

Anyone know who was taking photos? I saw a bunch of photographers throughout the weekend and thought I saw Jeff Loewe walking around, but there's no mention of the event on his site...

I saw Roz there as well as Loewe. Jeff's a lazy bum  ....give him time....it'll be up. Or drop him a line to force the issue.
