Kevin, not to worry, I'll be there hoping for a rematch to the two great races we had last year
I'll be sure to pack more voltage.

Things are looking decent at this point that I'll have a running, ready to go car in time. Most of the stuff I've been twiddling my thumbs and waiting on, are finally rolling.

Engine should be getting dropped in tomorrow, so feel confident enough to register. Prod group is starting to shape up pretty decently - anyone else gonna come and play?

Anyone coming from the north (Albright, Gauper, etc.), please read this:

I-75 Southbound is closed in Tennessee, just inside the Kentucky border. I'm debating if I want to take my chances with the detour in my rig through what's sure to be a pretty hilly area, or take I-77 down instead.

Rather bummed to be saying this, but it doesn't look like I'll be making it now. Did a Dyno session last Friday and another this morning, and still down ~20whp from the old engine. Haven't been able to figure it out yet, but leaning towards the ECU system. The car is actually running quite nicely, but just no power. Very similar to other times I've had ignition systems on Honda's start to crap out, except all of the stuff on this car is aftermarket. I had thought my Runoffs problem was the coil pack, as after replacing the old MSD one for a new Accel example, the car started running fine. Yet now, when I stick that old MSD unit back into the car, it's all of a sudden working exactly like the new Accel, which appears just fine. Yet with either one, still down ~20whp.

Kevin, I once experienced a clutch slippage issue that manifested itself as a 30 RWHP loss with no other symptoms. Dyno tech did pick up on it eventually. Wish I could be of more help.

Congratulations to Greg for winning both races this past weekend. I really wish I could have done a better job of PREVENTING him to do so well.

I got ahead of him at the start and got a small gap which he managed to close back up. I missed a 2-3 shift coming out of 10B and he got around me. A few laps later I spun going into 10A and could never get back up to him.

Sunday I did something I haven’t done in ten years. Until then I have NEVER neglected to re-insert the clips that hold the top portion of the rear window in. After the start when I looked up in my mirror at the top of the hill coming out of turn 3 and saw everyone so 'clearly' ... I knew exactly what had happened. My feelings at that moment were not a lot unlike what I felt when the car shut off on me during the 2008 Runoffs.

I pitted at the end of that first lap and a friend tried to get the pins back in but the whole thing was too deranged by that time, so they taped it on. That didn't last long. By the time I got to the top of the hill on the back straight it came off in a big way. So violently I figured the whole damn thing blew off ... So I kept going. I knew I was over a lap down but I honestly thought the entire rear hatch had left the car. It was when I started noticing some odd looks from some of the corner stations that I began to wonder if the hatch actually come off. I was especially checking the turn 9 flag station every time I went by but they never showed me the black flag. When I saw it on the front straight after a few laps I came in.

For any of the drivers that happened to be behind me when that happened, I apologize. It was a complete oversight on my part that it came off like that and I’m still surprised that I left those pins out. Thankfully, it didn’t come completely off... either time! I guess I did a decent job of welding on the Dzus tabs on the main bodywork. FWIW, I’ve already done a complete redesign of the whole thing in my head on the drive home Sunday night.

Congrats on the record, how'd the second race go? Did The Lotus show up at all?

Andrew was there both days with the Lotus. Saturday the car quit on him as we left the grid and wouldn't restart. Sunday he started the race but I saw him in pit lane when I retired second time I came in.
