Labor Day MARRS

Al forgot to mention the bottle of nitrous in the back hatch.

I was the "other VW", pedaling as fast as my little feet could go. No match for Al!

Edited to add: I was the other VW of similar vintage to Al. I was NOT the VW that rather spectacularly grenaded on the line in the carousel.

I was right behind him heading out of the carousel. F1 style smoke, followed by huge flames and engine parts coming out the bottom.

I was just coming out of 6 into 7, racing hammer and tongs with Charlie Chance in the Elva. I saw the LARGE set of flames and said something along the lines of "holy cow...", although it may not have been that family-friendly, closely followed by "yikes yikes yikes" as I tried to avoid the slippery stuff. Charlie wasn't so lucky and spun in it. He was close behind me so may have not even seen all the drama...we were having a fun race at the time so I'm sorry he spun.

The VW was a new car this season for the Audets, who haven't been seen much at Marrs races this year. From what I heard, sounded like BIG money prepping the car, followed by a BIG hole in the block after this weekend.
