HST schedule just released

Not much? I dunno, loss of Sebring and NOLA, and the addition of Barber seems kinda significant...

I may just have to look into a rental for Barber. Always wanted to get that one in the books.

PittRace was a NE Conference Majors. I'm aware that there will be a replacement event for Steel Cities Region at another track.

Any reason it wouldn't be Nelson Ledges?
I can neither confirm nor deny that it could be Nelson Ledges. Hypothetically, if such did exist, the subject matter would be classified, and could not be disclosed until the Majors schedules were publicly released.

GA, NE Conf Chairman

That's about the only track that would make sense for STC. I don't think the new one in centre county is operational yet right?

Funny thing is I can't find it now. It was somewhere north and west of Harrisburg. Allegedly they had broken ground in 2023 and were targeting 2027 for a grand opening.

Good news is there's 8 new tracks being built in the US right now. Mostly country club style with million dollar condos, garages, etc. but they are being built to FIA level 2 standards and should meet all SCCA safety/sanctioning/insurance requirements. There's a dude that does podcasts on youtube that gives status updates every 3-6 months or so.

The one outside of Houston is very popular. Wait list to join my favorite son in law tells me. There’s one NW of Columbus that is rumored to be coming (private club type).
The Houston one is hosting a Majors event in late spring - may go down and work as a Steward.

I'd not wager my own money that many of these tracks will welcome wheel-to-wheel competition, especially in the light of many existing tracks that are making moves toward minimizing it (and/or charging a shad-ton of money when they do -- VIR, Palmer, LRP).

The tracks that are most profitable are those that are country clubs (Monticello). Tracks make more profit, with less operating expense and human resources, letting Porsche/BMW/Ferrari/Lambo/Audi/etc drivers give them incredible amounts of money annually/monthly to be members and come drive around fast.

The money is with the money, not us.

But I guess we'll see.

That isn't the only model of successful country club tracks. Autobahn, Joliet has its own racing series which was something the members wanted. They also host SCCA events, have hosted FRP in the past and probably other clubs as well.
