Looks like Eric was leading overall right up to lap 10 and then appeared to drop out. Sam was right there with him at 1/2 second back. Rick Kosdrosky was right there with them and jumped to the lead on lap 10. Jesse appeared to have recovered from his spin and is currently running 3rd in EP and 4th overall.

Grahovec went out about the same time as Prill. Did they get together?

Also, the commentator said Schulz was leading HP, but timing and scoring didn't show that. Did his transponder stop working?

Jack broke a axle and was in & out of the pits. Rob Horrell won on Sunday. Norris's engine ate itself on Saturday so we didn't run Sunday. Jesse, I will bring beer to Topeka and I wanna hear that story!!! Congrats Champ!!!

Quote from the SCCA marketing e-mail sent out about the Super tour races....

Those looking for last-lap passes saw one in Group 2, when Jesse Prather’s No. 34 Jesse Prather Motorsports/MAZDASPEED Mazda MX-5 moved around Rick Kosdrosky’s No. 77 Kosmic Enterprises/Over Fifty Motorsports Caterham Lotus Special on the final of the 25-lap race in E Production. The two made side to side contact as Kosdrosky tried to preserve his win, sending him off the track to a fifth-place finish while Prather took the checkered flag and allowing Bill Allman (No. 28 CarStar/MAZDASPEED/Jesse Prather Motorsports Mazda RX-7) to finish second.

Also in the group, Sam Henry (No. 37 Springfield Dyno/SafeRacer/Goodyear Mazda Miata) took the F Production win, Kent Prather – father of EP winner Jesse – won GT-Lite in the No. 26 Prather Racing/MAZDASPEED Mazda Miata, and John De Barros (No. 85 All Out Auto USA/BFGoodrich Tires/Mazda MAZDA6) grabbed the STU win. Brian Laughlin’s No. 25 Tulsa Radiology Associates/Mazda/Hoosier Mazda Miata held off Jim Drago’s No. 2 East Street Racing Mazda Miata for the STL win, while Rob Horrell outlasted the competition in H Production to take a win in the No. 90 Horrell Group/Architects Austin Sprite.

Laughlin and the elder Prather each set new Hallett track records for their classes, at 1:28.508 and 1:24.684, respectively.

Congrats to Sam. We had a great race going through traffic but I had a transmission problem that dropped me out.

Matt thinks he broke a gear.

Race for Ep was very entertaining. Kosdrosky was well out front after Matt dropped out but then Bill and Jesse caught him and they swapped positions a little. Came down to a move by Jesse in the Bitch on the last lap. There was contact and Rick did protest but the results held.

Sketchy weather and frustration for me but a fun time nonetheless. Record entry for the event almost double that of 2011.

Crazy race with all of the SM's running in STL and a ton of lapped traffic, especially at Hallett. Everything went very smoothly though. Rick K. slowed down with a few to go and got complacent. Meanwhile Allman and I were in a war and caught and passed him. We both thought he must have a mechanical problem but then he got going again and got back past both of us. Then I got by Bill and pressed Rick. No contact from behind by me. Last lap I pulled a move only people who have raced at Hallett know about in the bitch. Totally surprised him and when he moved over to block me, which he did a lot of the last few laps, we hit side to side and the caterham is just no match for the MX5's girth. He could have checked up and easily repassed me up the hill but maybe lack of track knowledge was his downside. Really can't beleive I won that race but I guess I'll take it. Rick protested me, first protest I've ever had, but after seeing the video he got his money back and I got to keep the win. No ill feelings between us and it was one of the most intense races I've had. I'd like to post some video but my youtube account doesn't work anymore. Thoughts on the best way I can get some video up online??

Sign up for another youtube account maybe? If not, I'll track down my login info and you can upload from my account..

Thanks Eric...

I had fun racing with you both days! Our cars were like magnets that never touched... Too bad about the tranny, I really wanted to see how sunday was going to turn out. I suspect either tires or traffic would have determined that one! Who knows, might have ended in a tire wall...

After Eric had tranny issues, I backed way down and started going through traffic like a normal human instead of that circus stuff we were pulling early in the race. My wide angle lens always makes things look farther away than they really are, but I'll throw the first 10 laps on youtube in a couple days. Pretty impressive pass between 3 and 4 ;) I wondered how that would work, but we were both "all in" at that point. I do regret slowing down after eric dropped out, otherwise I might have had great video of some of the E race battles that developed. I wasn't expecting Rick to come back to us like that

As you said in impound, that could have ended very badly.

Have yet to unload and pull data out of my car (waiting for my toe to heal, which may be never). Once I have that, I'll post my first 10 as well. The video is entertaining and I'm sure yours is even better since you can't tell you're on my bumper the whole time in mine!

Well, Norris may not have killed the Midget engine, broken wire and possibily a battery issuse. We may get to run again. :applause: :applause:

Jerry, I think it ran out of juice to run the ignition..it started and ran fine last night. Time to test the battery!!!!

Here is my whole race, all 10 laps of it, from Sunday.

Keep in mind Sam was probably never more than 2-3 car lengths behind. The traffic gets busy on lap 6 including a move that I'm not sure I'd try again, but hey, I wasn't about to just get in line with the lapped cars!

I do want to see your's, Sam. And if my move was wild, you following me was absolutely insane!

According to a flagger who was at Turn 4 on Sunday - yes, the passing through the grass between 3 & 4 was crazy!

Does Sam have an addition on his main hoop?

Ouu, that inside on the grass  could have been a whole lot different outcome.

Fun ride, thanks.

Here is the first 10 of mine... Please keep in mind:

wide angle lens mounted high on roll cage makes things apprear off in the distance when they're pretty close... when eric looks close, I can't see his lights ;)

Grass was wet/muddy

David... I do have an additional bar higher than my main hoop... It's not required, and I meet the rule with the main hoop and raced without the additional bar for a few years. I'm really wierd about it (especially at road america) and will one day be back in a tin top car...

last video on the following page with the little red car off to the right...

That move would come very natural to Sam. With his motocross background and.... a current National Champion in the Rally Cross Prepared class, Sam has lots of experience with off roading. :)

Club Racer Sam Henry, of Republic, Mo., narrowly missed a podium finish in F Production at the Runoffs just a couple of weeks prior, but got his National Championship in RallyCross by winning the Prepared – Rear Wheel Drive class in his SpringfieldDyno.com/SafeRacer Mazda Miata.
Good Race guys. :applause:

Sam, will you be at the HPT race in July? There will be a very deep FP field that weekend.
