First Gen RX7 Rear Suspension Setup

If you want to use a Torsen, the Miata ones are a bolt in change.

John is giving you good advice on the rear camber. It isn't something that needs to be done. Get the springs and shocks right before you do anything. I ran my civic with the stock engine (66 Horse Power at ground is the reason for the #66) for a season until I got the handling the way I wanted it. Then I got the close ratio transmission and built a pretty good motor. I think that is the route to take on any build.

If you are changing differentials, change your rear ratio. Gears do not affect rear wheel horsepower. But, they do multiply torque, something the rotary engine is weak on.

If you have 100 pounds of torque, multiply it by your gear ratios.
Using a 3:70 or a 5:12 rear gear, which will give you more torque?

3:70 X 100 or 5:12 X 100?

And then multiply that by the intermediate gear ratios

This is a nice little kit, especially if you need rear springs anyway. They will supply anything you want. I ordered 200#, but have not installed it yet. Maybe for 2015 season. Many have done a DIY version of this kit.

I have a few of the re-speed pieces and have been pleased with them.

Yes, what Jason posted is it, really soft rear springs and the fronts would vary due to track conditions. My 1st gen had 900# front springs when I bought it. It's got 600/250 now, it handles really well, just can't drive it like Tom did.
