2015 Prod Fest at VIR – October 17-18

Crusher award...

I don't actually make a habit of hitting other cars, it is the worst thing you can do in club racing.

The fact I didn't see the car until the impact made it all my fault, there was a high speed difference, I had just checked the mirror, and had then started looking farther down the track, I was attempting to judge when I could get on the gas, where I could go faster. I was coming up to speed gradually during Qualifying, and the E prod car was already going very fast.

First time I have ever hit another car, and the way I see it was entirety my fault. On a positive note there was very little damage. I just hope this never happens again.

Ted:

Please accept my apologies if the award is causing some unintended ill will. I absolutely agree with your sentiments about avoiding contact at all costs.

It was my understanding the award was given out in previous years to the driver who for whatever reason had damage to their car, but was able to make the necessary repairs (even with duct tape the first year it was awarded) to make the race.

I think your auto parts run early Sunday morning, coupled with your third place finish in the Prod Fest qualifies you for this honor. You had a great race!

No problem, the award is all in good humor.

Thankfully it is a incident that we could all recover from and race later at the same event, racing includes some risk. Part of that risk is sometimes making a fool of yourself.

I am looking forward to running against your rumored MGB, I am spreading the rumor it will be running next year.

Even if it is F prod, I am looking forward to a rematch, I plan to be faster next year.....

Rick - Thanks for taking up the challenge of keeping the Prod Fest going. Sorry to see that you only had 2 GTL cars but I hope to add 1 to that tally next year. Almost made it this year but a convergence of life events made it a non event for me.
