One week out - a few helpful reminders from grid:
1) please make sure your crew has their hot pass on their person when they are on grid. It's a big paddock and a long hike back to the trailer to pick up forgotten credentials. If grid doesn't check it, hot pit will. Hot pass will be required on grid and on pit lane.
2) Same with your tech stickers. Please put them on the car as soon as you are back at your rig after tech. We can't let you on the track if you don't have a tech sticker on the car. Long trip back to the trailer to get it = missed laps.
3) Same with your pit vehicle. I believe there is still a requirement for a sticker for your pit vehicle. Don't quote me on this - please check the supps. Grid probably won't bother to check it, as we won't see many pit vehicles unless you're towed onto grid. Pit will probably check. If you ARE towed onto grid, the tow vehicle must leave grid ASAP and park on the paddock side of the fence. Please don't try to leave your pit vehicle on grid - there isn't enough room.
4) The posted time on the schedule is GREEN FLAG TIME. Please be on grid 15 minutes before that posted time to get your proper spot, allow time to get ready, get your 5 and 1-minute notifications and, on race day, your loooonnng pace lap. All that happens in advance of that posted time. Green flag flies at the posted time.
5) Victory circle will again be on the paddock side of the track (as opposed to the control tower side like a few years ago), opposite the tunnel from the grid tent. Your crew will need to hike up thru the paddock a bit before they can access pit lane - they can't just scoot around the tunnel and go right onto pit lane.
That's all I can think of. Please add stuff as you see fit. See ya'all in a week. (Oh - and please don't call us "false grid" - we're just "grid"!)
