Could anyone suggest a shop that does excellent porting combustion chamber work and other cylinder head work for the water cooled 8 valve non cross-flow VW head that was used on the VW Rabbit/Sirocco from the late 70'2 to early 80's? thanks for any information and your time and consideration. I'm having a new head done by FAT Performance in Orange, CA. They did my bottom end earlier in the year, and prepped the stock head, when I was running the H Prod spec motor in GTL. Now that I have switched to carbs, I can have the head fully ported, larger valves, no limit on cam lift, etc. done, so he's building me a new head. They used to build Water VW's and Toyota 4AGE's for the buggy off road classes before they went with a spec/sealed motor. He's having to knock out the cobwebs to remember all the cool tricks that they did back in the day, but they do great work.

Not a VW specialist, but a really great cylinder head porter / R&D guy. Being from the Midwest, his prices are pretty great too.

I may have a complete super vee head that sounds like what you're looking for. IIRC it's from Bertils. It was purchased for a GT4 Rabbit project a long time ago. Weren't there several other guys who specialized in these things back in the day?
