Trailer roofing sealant advice

I want to make the roof edge joints on my enclosed trailer more robust so I'm looking for a recommendation for some kind of house trailer or enclosed trailer, possibly hot flowing, type sealant recommendation. I went to Bruce Litton trailer sales in Indy (near IRP, ORP, LRP, now ?RP) and they sold me some "bulletproof" stuff in a caulking tube.........which is now peeling off. Help!!

Jay, I sold my 20' Pace enclosed trailer to ba buddy about 4-5 years ago, and it was starting have few leaks at the seams, I used a commeracial caulk, and then coated the entire roof with the commercial roof silver seal, 5 years later it is still sealed and not leaking.

If you are just looking to do an edge then try some eternabond tape, very popular in RV community.

Sorry, but NO! to all of the well intended suggestions above.

Go to your RV/trailer supply store and buy tubes of C-10 Flow Seal Self Leveling Caulk, or buy it on Amazon and have it shipped to you. Should be about $7 a tube.

Jay, one more comment. As an Architect I deal with sealants a lot and the biggest problem we see is failure to clean/prime properly. I would suggest you follow the cleaning/priming instructions carefully. Find out who handles Dow or Dupont commercial sealants for construction (not the home center type) and get the material from them. Any good commercial grade architectrual sealant should work. I suspect that is why your is "peeling".

We use a roof sealer called Silver Dollar its tar and aluminum chips , you have to mix it very well ,paint in on and you are done.Seals coats everything .Good clean surface helps.Been holding up outside for years now very well on our refigertion pipes that ice up and melt .Its made for roofs! We use 150 caulk from a roofing supply company it stops leaks and can be put on under water.Works very well at all temps.Sprman : )
