Hi Gang
We are less than a week from the final MARRS points event of the 2012 season, The Labor Day MARRS presented by Radial Tire Company. The supps for the event are here http://www.wdcr-scca.org/LinkClick.aspx ... 3&mid=3730 . We are race group four. Be aware that on Saturday and Sunday we will have qualifying in the morning and racing in the afternoon by race group each day. Monday will be twenty lap races by race group.
You can find our sponsor on Al Gore's internet here http://radialtireco.com .

As we have done in the past, this year's Labor Day MARRS will have a benefit charity which is the Relay for Life-American Cancer Society. You can click here www.wdcr-scca.org/ClubRacing/CharityEve ... fault.aspx for a full rundown of the charity events that will be happening. There is not a person reading this email whose life has not been touched by cancer somehow, so please give generously. There will be the Lunch time ride arounds available all three days of the event. This is a great chance to give family, crew, and friends a ride around the track to benefit a worthy cause.
This is the one race event each year that I show up to with a pocketful of money. It all goes to a good cause.
Make sure that you purchase EV insurance, you will be glad that you did!

We will be having an Open Club Racing Committee meeting on Saturday evening during dinner. Please attend, not only for the free dinner, but so that you can tell the Club Racing Committee what you think about the MARRS series and how it is being run. Come tell us what we are doing right and what we are doing wrong. This is your meeting, please attend.

I need to hear back from those folks that are going to be paddocking in the Small Bore Corral for this event. I need to get a head count so that I can maximize the space usage for this event. Please respond back to me so that I can work this out.

Going into the final MARRS race weekend of the season we have some hotly contested points championships happening. H Production, F Production, GT Pinto, and Super Touring Light, all have points series races hanging in the balance. There will be some great races to watch, and participate in.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

See you all at the track.
cheers

This is my favorite MARRS event of the year. There's always a good small bore turn out.

And with the Friday test day, who doesn't celebrate four days at the tack.

Another cool story about this weekend. Jesse Prather will be there driving in his first ever race at the track where he grew up. Fortunately, he's not in our group. 8)

Really looking forward to driving on at the track I spent so much of my childhood at. A big thanks goes out to Fred McConnell and Mike Collins at Meathead Racing for helping out this weekend. We're also going to try and get Fred below that lap record sometime over the weekend!

I would be happy to arrange this with the Stewards if you would like. 8)

Jesse will have his hands full with the local SM crowd. They have a reputation of pushing around, protesting and exiling outsiders who show up and do well.

Not to mention the grief he'll be getting for sporting a purple and pink ear tag ....

He's not showing up on the entry list yet. There is always STL, which would eliminate the need for a tag.

On second thought, Group 4 already has 40 registered and missing a few one would expect to be there, plus the LCs.

I and my friend Steve will be there in the ex-Mark Coffin FP Scirocco. Steve is racing Saturday, I am racing Sunday - Monday... Our first race outing in the car...

Evan, I saw that and wondered if that was the car. Good luck and congratulations. It will be great to see it out there.

Greg, Meathead is handling the registration. Look in Group 8 at some point later this week.

Small bore group shaping up nicely. As of this morning 9-FP, 8-HP and 5-EP in a 45 car group. Gonna be busy out there.
