Inde Motorsports Ranch Majors

Jason, I wanted to discuss it with him after the race, but that was hard to do. When I rolled into impound, his car was there, but he was no where to be found. Later I learned he was out in the next session in a T1 Porsche, and came running up to Oli Thordarson after some wheel rub on the last lap. Barb Knox had to get between them as Trenery was about to throw blows. Seriously, this was my first contact in a SCCA race, it's not what I do, and I don't want the rep. As I was packing up Keith Gillespie, the EP winner, said he wished he had video because it sure looked like I got slammed on purpose to him. As Forest Gump said, "That's all I have to say about that."

David, I'll upload more video. The tracks really tight with only a narrow line in most spots, and yet speeds aren't that fast. The alert in the SRF race was into a 60mph corner into the wall before the tires. The track is a challenging race track, in both good and not so good ways. But, would I race it again, you bet I would.

The corner of Z3's incident is kind of an on camber corner due to the upgrade and it is not hard to hold an inside line most of the way around that corner. I found it a good place to pass if the car being passed is aware of what is happening. My passes were done earlier to make the passed car/driver more aware.

This incident seems to be a combination of a slightly late attempt to pass along with low awareness of the driver in the car being passed. I have learned that passing a larger car (especially a sedan) on the right with a smaller car is very risky business because of reduced visibility on the right side.
