Inde Motorsports Ranch Majors

So who's going? I saw that there were 4 EP 1 FP 3 HP and 1 GTL car. I was hoping more prod cars would come down from Cali and Colorado so I would have some good racing to watch.

I was interested, but it's pretty far from Colorado and since it's not a midwest majors it really doesn't do me any good.

You made me look, Bill. It's a difference of 100 miles between INDE (823) and Eagles Canyon (721) from Denver. The conference thing is probably more important to you.

I'll have to make a long haul this year to make the STU cut. High Plains plus the northern stuff in Oklahoma and Kansas.

Even if it was half the distance, I'm not sure I would have gone. I don't understand why it's so important to run a particular set of majors to get an invite to the runoffs.

In any case, if you make it out to HPR, come by for a uh...cold water we're not really drinkers. My father-in-law and I will be standing around staring at the car and wondering what size lug nuts to use. You can find us from a distance by looking for the dark cloud; it's directly above us.

If you see Goodale running with a fire extinguisher, just follow him.

I agree Bill.

In conference race at NOLA was 1322 miles, out of conference race at INDE is 842 (Google maps). I know I can run out of conference if I get so many points, but why.

My problem is the time of year. In the last week I've gotten over a foot of snow on top of the snow I already have. Couldn't get the rig out if I had to.

All the races except one before Memorial Day? We don't normally start our season until then.

I guess the conference titles are setup for living in the south since it's difficult for us to get to the races. Yes we did have a couple go to NOLA, retired and well funded.

Rant off, I'll go to the races to get qualified and spend the rest of the year camping.

I'll be there. Dale Shewmaker lost a rod last weekend and is putting togeather his spare plans to be there. But Burce Treney has us both beat comming from Emeryville.

EP was won Keith Gillespie who ran by himself when Roger Karlson in the Elva got turned on lap one.
FP was Joe Huffaker who started from the rear (I think he ran qualifying as a GTL car for Sunday but not sure) and worked his way to the front.
Gary Wittman ran away and hid in HP
Not sure about who finished where behind them. They were having timing issues, including running qualifying on hand time.

"They were having timing issues, including running qualifying on hand time." And this was a MAJORS? Most impressive!

What was final number of starters? How many double dippers?

According to the SCCA story, the tracks timing loop was faulty. Can't hardly blame the region or the SCCA for that. Issues were solved and a back up plan (always mandatory) was implemented. I know our region has had to deal with problematic hardware from AMB once in a while. But this was the first SCCA event at the track. There's always a learning curve. Sounds like Arizona Region is coping as best as it can.

Check in today at 3:35 ET for the prod guys. "Watch" on twitter and live T&S.

The timing loop issue was fixed on Saturday by Group 5 (GTL, EP-HP, ST, T, and BS). I'd based my qualifying strategy on getting an out lap and two flier laps like Miata, Formula and SRF run groups got. Instead I got lots of slow traffic around me. Even so I managed the fastest time for STU (12th overall). Between the race and qualifying I still had the STU pole at 1:50.6 for Sunday. However, I have some interesting video of a certain STL car slamming into mine on Sunday.

"I have some interesting video of a certain STL car slamming into mine on Sunday." Gee, I wonder who that may be??? I look forward to seeing that video.

IMHO I put that on you. You were the overtaking car and made a pretty optimistic move, even putting your right front off the edge of the track, as shallow as you entered I doubt you could have held a tight enough line to give him racing room on the outside. Its not a great camera angle, but I can see his front bump ahead of you almost the entire time, not a big surprise that he turned in and went for the apex. Seems like if you had been patient you could have easily passed him clean on the strait.

No idea who the other guy is, but not surprised by the reaction you got when you did pass him - not that its ok.

Jason, the line was solid, I wasn't moving over as it's an uphill turn in. I was passed in combined practice by Oli Thordarson in just the same move as I used too. Notice he gives the FP car the same line in the previous lap.

BTW it's Trenery

All I can comment on is what you shared, and I see the overtaking car failed to make a clean pass. :| Perhaps a different angle or other view might say otherwise.

No idea who that is, not that it makes a difference in this case.
