Helmet drilling for defNder neck brace question.

Hello,
I drilled my last helmet for my defender system, and it was no big deal. My new helmet (G Force) has holes in it already for Gforce's SRS-1 system. I contacted Gforce and they said it is not a problem drilling more holes. I also looked at the defender website and they say use current holes in helmet if they are there for a FIA rated situation. At the same time, their drilling directions say don't use others holes if they are outside a 1/2 " radius of those described in the drilling process.
I am ready to drill, but can't quite pull the trigger. Anybody been in my shoes or have a suggestion.

I also have a G Force helmet, and after reading the DefNder instructions, drilled new holes as per their reccomended placement. It didn't seem like the SRS holes were usable with the DefNder.

I have a G-Force helmet too, and ended up drilling holes for my new HANS as the existing threaded holes (for the G-Force H&N restraint) just weren't in the right spot for the HANS tethers to work properly. So now my helmet has HANS, Isaac, & G-Force H&N restraint mounts!

Funny this came up today. I went to install my helmet hardware for my DeFender on a bell SA 2010 helmet that has the threaded inserts and have found that I can not get them to align in the proper position, any ideas how to get the proper indexing???

I have all the instructions. The Bell helmet that I bought has fixed inserts and the hardware for the DeFender has to be indexed in a certain way and when I tighten it up in the helmet it is pointing in the wrong direction. I considered using either very thin washers or I suppose loctite, just didn't know if Blue would be strong enough and was really afraid to use red.

I have the Necksgen also and will be installing it tomorrow on a Bell SA2010. We'll see how it goes.

It is actually a SAH 2010 which as I said above already has the threaded inserts installed which make it a problem to index the DeFender anchors correctly. I have found Hans took care of this seemingly by making their anchors indexing adjustable from the outside.

Surely someone is using a DeFender with a SAH 2010 helmet, how did you get proper indexing or did you just not worry about it?

I just installed my necksgen quick releases and found the pre drilled holes to be just right. The only adhustment was turning them to the best angle and then final tightening. I found the Necksgen to be a very complete and well documented product. Feels comfy and light.

Yeah I noticed that the necksgen as well as the Hans has a way to index the helmet hardware on a SAH 2010 but not the G70. The holes are in the correct location but with the inserts they just don't tighten up in the correct location.

I'm still Salty that I can't use my Isaac.

.

Vote by procuring a Defnder or NecksGen.

When I was looking for a used DeFnder I found two. One may still be available.

Or if you want to be saltier I'll sell you another Isaac.
