Clutch to fit a trans with 22 spline

I have a ford escort gearbox sort of fitted to my old fiesta.

Here is the problem a ford escort clutch pressure plate is to large for a fiesta flywheel.

And the other problem well it seems a 22 spline is odd, no AP racing clutch disc.

I may have to remove the center hub on the escort clutch disc and attach it to a smaller disc, but Wonder how well the rivits will hold up. I am sure I won't get the rivits to hold as well as some factory with the proper tools......

It is like a square peg and a round hole.... This part fits but now nothing else fits.

I can get a escort flywheel but what are the chances of that bolting to a fiesta crankshaft.

Any great ideas???

Ted,
Do you want a stock type organic material clutch? 22 splines came on some 1.8L Mazda products.

Scan EbayMotors for rebuilt clutch kits made by small manufacturers and contact them directly. I had good luck buying directly from the guys who will put parts together for motor heads like us.

Thanks

I think for now I will try to swap the centr hub to the smaller disc.

But it would be nice to be able to order a part that actually fits.

I think if I cut down the large disc the pucks will fall off, I will be to close to the rivits.

I need to get a diffrent car, but thought I could solve the trans problem, now have parts that won't fit.

Have you talked with lbanner of the members list? He, Larry Banner Milwaukee metro area has a small ford that came out of Fl orininally. From back when the car was for sale out of FL I had the cars transmission/clutch info but as usual the info got lost.
