Strange Spridget brake question

I already know what your are thinking but........

Has anyone ever done a conversion on a sprite front axle to install much bigger (compatible with say 15" wheels) front brakes? If so, what caliper, rotor, spindle etc did you use? This configuration would obviously NOT be legal for club racing.

Thanks, Jay

Jay:

All Spridget questions are strange!

It seems to me I saw such a setup on a British web site a year or so ago. Give Mr.Google a try.

It was good to meet you at the Prodfest. Sorry Peter had bad luck.

Hi Jay,

Here is a link that describes disk brake conversions on a Morris Minor.
I do not know if this will apply to a Sprite or Midget.

Disks mentioned in the link include those from a Morris Marina (249 mm), Vauxhall Viva, BMW disks on Marina hubs (260 mm), Peugeot 205 Rallye (247 mm), Vauxhall (Opel) Astra (256 mm), And Golf GTI (280 mm) 15" wheels.

I have a customer with a Lotus S7 . It has 1988 Golf rotors and calipers fitted. 10.4 in fits inside 13in BMW spec wheels.
Simple conversion bracket to retain the caliper .
