Spridget water temp sensor

Once again I throw myself at the mercy of the Spridget Intelligencia.

In an effort to 'modernize' my Spridget, I'm putting in all electronic gauges. So I need a fitting to adapt the 1/8" NPT water temp sensor to the port on the head. It appears to be 5/8"-18 bolt thread. But that doesn't seem right. Another forum suggests that it's a 3/8" BSP. So what's the answer? Find a goofy adapter? Plug the port and put the sensor somewhere else?

I can't be the first guy to go down this road so there has to be an easy answer out there. Any ideas, folks? Email me at [email protected] with any pertinent suggestions.

Dayle,
I am using a Stack sensor in the original location. Use a stock fitting into head with an male - female aluminum adaptor which fits the stock fitting. I don't remember the size of the male but I think female for the Stack is a 1/8" npt. I had to drill it out to make room for sensor. I'm out of town but can send you a picture when I get home.
