Always a great event, and coming up quick! I'm tentatively planning on being there in our "still in development" 1993 Civic DX hatch, but not confident enough to actually sign up yet. It's hitting the dyno later this week, so we'll see how that goes. I'm excited to race Mid-Ohio, and obviously wish I could have my FP car there, especially with Eric & Charlie coming, but it'll still be down in Texas at that point.

This event usually has a pretty darn good Prod turn out, and although GTL & HP are looking pretty good, where are all the local EP & FP cars?

FP in the Great Lakes put up 8-10 cars pretty easily a couple seasons ago. Last year I chalked that drastically falling off to "west coast Runoffs" and what seemed like lots of the FP racers in that area having "life in the way" as well. I personally had both excuses. This year though, I was certainly hoping to see it bounce back, but that's not looking like the case so far.

Joe Walker said he will be there if he finds the motivation to work on his car. Something about being retired. He said John should be there. Of the 4 entries so far, only 1 (Alderson) is from GLDiv or the Northern Conference.

So there are 2 on that list that are definitely not coming. There are several FP cars on the Cendiv side of the Conference -- maybe some will come over? Dieter, Sturm, Jerry, Froh?

Sam Henry said he "might" come. He owns a number in the Northern conference.

Incidentally, the Hans and Joshua Saurino are both in open wheel cars for Mid-Ohio. Would be cool if Nigel and dad would come out and play with the MGs!

I hope there's a good field of cars. I decided to make the trip to Mid-Ohio this year instead of next year.
 
There are at least 3 more H cars that I know plan on attending (barring any major issues in the final stages of prep)...

if someone can help bring a car from michigan area to mid-ohio and then back i'll be in. logistics of getting this done is becoming a nightmare with some personal things going on...but this will be the last majors i'll be able to attend for 2-3 years...
 
Aaron, I've already told Jess I would "exercise" your car on a regular basis while you're out of the country....... :twisted:

Looks like a strong field in every one of those classes. should be a fun weekend.

Anybody raced Grahovec in his EP car yet? He was stink fast in his STU car when it wasn't having mechanical issues. he'd either win the race or break (more often than not, he would break....)
I haven't seen him around here this season and don't see any Majors results with him yet. Just curious-- I would expect him to be on the pointy end.
 
It hasn't got out to an SCCA event yet, but it was ran at TWS a couple weeks ago with NASA and is entered for the TWS Majors next weekend. There's some pictures of it on the Classic BMW Motorsports Facebook page. A cool build: rescued from a wrecking yard, and transformed into a beautifully built new racecar!
 
In E, I would expect Moser to be fast because he's Moser at his home track. Also expect Williams to be fast, new name to some (also races STL different car), he is being mentored by non other than Jesse Prather. IIRC, he did a lap a tick quicker than Brakke's fastest at the Farm a couple weeks ago at a Majors.

Looks like he ran a 1.56 with it on its track debut. Considering GTS3 class, I'm *assuming* that's with DOTs as well. Not a bad showing at all for a maiden voyage. I also heard the track was quite slow that weekend due to temps and surface condition (lots of HPDE cars on ****** *****, etc etc). Sooo, I would expect well into the lower 1:5Xs with the bugs worked out and slicks on the car. Yeah, it'll be at the pointy end.
 
Looks like we're down 2 possible H cars due to issues in final prep... Should still have 8-9 show up though.

You weren't counting British-chickens before they prep-hatched, were you? That's like a kiss of death... :lol:

Not that I should talk, as our Honda is continuing to have epic dyno fail. I'm almost to the point of just entering my tried & true ITA Integra into FP, and having a "I'm just here for the beer" kind of weekend, but getting my ass extremely kicked just doesn't sound like much fun, no matter how I slice it. :(
 
Just a reminder folks......read your supps. A new GLDiv late fee and cancellation policy has been promulgated this year. Among other things, it means that the there is a standardized schedule for online registration. For this race, MSR closes in 5/21 so if you're going to enter this race, do so before 5/21 when a $75 late fee kicks in.

We had to do this so the region's volunteers (registrars, treasurers, race chairs, etc.) don't incur extra work at the last minute. Late entries cause a world of hassles and a serious late fee should help alleviate that.
