Lifters

Ok, motor in question is a Rover V8.

Rule says I can switch from the stock hydraulics to solids. Great, that gets me some more RPM to play with.

Can I switch to a hydraulic ROLLER lifter? I'm thinking no but want to confirm that as I believe the rule says something like you need to use the same "style" of lifter or some such.

Second, the very nice solid lifters I found are connected in pairs by some sort of balance bar. Odd -- anyone seen that before (no. 1) and (no. 2) is it legal?

Hi Jeff:

1. Camshafts are unrestricted. Any lifters, tappets/cam
followers of the same type and diameter as stock are
permitted. The interchange of hydraulic and solid lifters is
permitted.

I'd interpret that as no rollers unless it came stock that way. Re the links - are they on roller lifters? That sort of thing is common on roller lifters to maintain the roller orientation. On a normal flat lifter you typically WANT rotation of the lifter, so you wouldn't want any such linkage. (If I'm correctly visualizing what you are describing)
