Houston Region SCCA is happy to announce the return of the "Twister" format for our upcoming Double Regional & PDX on December 8-9.
We are in for an exciting weekend of racing both clockwise and counter-clockwise directions at MSR Houston.

Registration is now open on MotorsportReg.com (http://bit.ly/Rut9gQ), and a PDF of the entry can be found on the Southwest Division website: http://www.sowdivscca.org/entryforms/12-12-08_entry.pdf

Spectators are welcome, so invite your friends out! There will be a $10 gate fee, but kids under 16 and SCCA & MSR Houston members are free. You can also save $5 by downloading the coupon found on the last page of the entry or on the Houston Region SCCA website: www.houscca.com.

Event Schedule:
The schedule will be the same both days, with the exception of the Race Party on Saturday
6:30 a.m. Track gate opens
7:00 a.m. - Noon Registration opens to all registrants in Houston Region building.
7:15 a.m. F & C Meeting at control building
7:30 a.m. - Lunch Tech opens in the garage next to registration. Scales open at 10:30 a.m., pending qualifying impound.

8:00 am Mandatory Group 6 PDX Meeting in Clubhouse
8:00 am 15-min Seamless Qualifying A Groups 1-5
9:35 am 20-min Group 6 PDX
10:00 am 20-min Seamless Qualifying B Groups 1-5
11:35 am 20-min Group 6 PDX
12:00 pm Lunch Break
12:45 pm 30-min or 15-lap Regional Races for Groups 1-5*
4:30 pm 20-min Group 6 PDX
*Trophies will be handed out post-race at the impound trophy presentation.
5:00 p.m. SATURDAY RACE PARTY: Everyone is invited to join us at the Clubhouse for good food and cold drinks after the final race.

When we run clockwise, it just means as soon as the last car enters the pits, grid is released. When we run counter-clockwise, it means when the last car exits the keyhole (turn 12-ish), the grid is released. We clean up cars after every other session. By getting rid of the down time, we have more on-track time for our participants.

NASA does the sameish thing. When we ran Busch North they ran 4 cars for 3 laps with overlap. 3 laps and out.
I think it could work for SCCA also as the best lap is 2or 3. Line up 60 cars and let them run 4 laps and exit. Call the next group.
You may run into issues with better track temp and surface temp some days ..
