Here is a really good video about SCCA racing in 1963. Great in car footage of Watkins Glenn. Towing your Elva on an open trailer behind a Lark. Life was a bit simpler then.

Just shortly before my time, but brings back a lot of memories. 1st tow car was a 66 Implala with a single axle unsprung trailer.

COOL!

Notice rolling, hands-off brake test in impound, and use of uni-syn on S. U. carbs. Also, lack of Armco or concrete barriers.

Pretty sure that's me walking in front of camera at 12.52.

Love it!

I can remember spending just hours on practicing those brake tests. Slap the pedal and almost always get a drum to pull one way or the other. Hit the pedal firm but never slap it. My older brother would have me do the test for everyone that had trouble. Got where they wouldn't let me test other peoples cars. ;-)

I enjoyed the video. Thank you very much! A year before I was born but it's great to see those cars in action. Some of those same type of cars are out there running with my now 27 year old "new" car.
