Rich,
Can you tell me more about the tranny?
1st gen, 2nd gen, ????
What makes it a Mazda Comp unit?
When was it gone through, how much race time on the rebuild?
Can you post some pics?

Thanks,
Mitch

It fits 1st gen. It has a slightly different housing with a slightly rougher casting finish. I think these were low production units offered by Mazda Competition that have a non-stock, close ratio gear set. The rebuild was about 10 years ago but the unit probably has less than 15 race weekends of use since then. The repaired crack in the housing was caused by the previous owner installing a stock starter without a support bracket. The cantilevered mounting of the starter caused the housing to crack. It has been repaired and I will provide the starter support bracket that I fabricated. Please provide your email so I can forward photos.
