Runoffs Registration opens Wednesday July 25th

Competitors doing test days will be parked in their reserved spots ONLY one day prior to their scheduled test day

Remember, no early parking. I'm guessing (take it for what it's worth) if you're not doing a test day you can get in sometime Monday.

After last year I was hoping SCCA and Road America would change this. I guess they don't understand that some of us show up early so we can enjoy the location and relaxe with friends.

Once again they try and take the social aspect of Club racing out of the event.

I'm drafting my letter to my BOD member that we find a track thats more "competitor friendly" for the next Runoffs location.

The schedule is doing the same thing. The Runoffs is a destination event, not just a championship race weekend. At least that is how I view it, Im going because I want to experience the ambiance. Plan on getting there Monday even though fp is not on track until last session on Thursday. First races on Thursday some groups with 2 qualifying sessions in 1 day, silly schedule. Sorry, I just don't get it.

I get it, but maybe I'm in the minority. For those of on the west coast or find it hard to get two weeks off at a time, may find the new schedule helpful. I've got a 2-3 day tow each way.

I will miss out on some of the stuff that I enjoy about the Runoffs, but have the option of early arrival if so desired.

Unfortunately I think I'm out. A lot of time and hard work but life sometimes takes precedence. I finally sold my house in Bloomington and close the 15th. New house doesn't close until the 31st. So motorhome living for a couple weeks. Nowhere to work on the car and certainly even less time. On a good note the mill and page are pretty much all that's left in the shop

I'll post my first grid "reminder" now: please remember the ROs are time specific. When your time is posted, that's "green flag" time. Plan to be on grid 10 -15 minutes before that posted time. Count backward from that time to factor in your 5 minute warning and pace lap. Green flag flies at the posted time. Cheers, all!

While we are posting Runoffs reminders, I'll get in a plug for express tech. It is available at the registration building. Once you have registered, come around to the south end of the registration building. Here's from the supps.

"Sun–Mon............... Sept 16-17 ............ 7:00 AM – NOON at Registration

Tech Building
Sun-Mon ............... Sept 16-17 ............ 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Tue–Sun ............... Sept 18-23 ............ 7:45 AM – 6:00 PM

Note: Tech Areas will close by 8:00 PM CDT each day. Any inspections not completed by this time will be carried over to the next day.
9.2. Rules of Tech: The following shall be adhered to without exception:
 No engines will be run in the Tech areas at any time during the week, unless directed to do so by a Tech official. Push cars in and out of the area.
 Smoking is prohibited in the Tech areas.
9.3. Express Tech (Check In): If your car does not need an annual Tech and its logbook has no unresolved notations, you do not need to present your car for Technical Inspection. After you have registered, please bring the following items to Tech:
 Vehicle logbook
 Helmet with a 2012 Club sticker
 Head and Neck restraint
 All Driver’s suits to be used during the competition with official SCCA Club Racing patches on each suit and with the patches for any non-SCCA
sanctioning body removed or covered. Tech will be checking driver suits. First omission will result in a $50 fine. Second violation will result in a $100
fine. All fines related to missing patches will be donated to the SCCA Foundation.
 Tech sheet/vehicle declarations page (included in driver packet)
9.4. Vehicle Full Tech will be required if notations exist in the logbook or the car needs an annual Tech. Gear and helmet shall be presented at Tech Check-in."

And right now, the plan is to again see all of you in post qualifying impound. Compliance checks will not be invasive and the only tools you might need would be to open a dzus fastner. I will have a small screw driver this year so we not have to hunt dimes!

See everyone there.

Also what's with the driling of bolt heads? I don't have bolts at the locations mentioned. How will this be used?
I'm going to post this under FT. Answer there as it's a better location to discuss.

Of course we are checking door hinges again this year.

Warning, the new hot items this year are framis rods and lateral polar binary extensions. Please be sure they are compliant. :ask:

Seriously, don't worry about drilling bolts. It does not apply to anything that will be checked post qualifying for production.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again.
