Another former SM driver, Bill Hingston bought an FP car from out east, has made some improvements, and is under the PPIR FP record, and close to the EP track record set by Tony Rivera 10 years ago. He may be the overall winner from the lap times I'm hearing.

Inness ran EP last year in the same chassis, with (I think) a different motor and was pretty fast. Interested to see how he does with some weight and a smaller motor.

Paul Jensen has made some improvements but needed some time on the dyno and I'm not sure he got it done.

Guy has a new dog box, and John has several nationals under his belt already this year.

I tested on Wednsday and solved a couple of issues (one engine related, one handling). Unfortunately for me, all that work on "unbinding" the front sway bar didn't make the slightest difference and the car just pushes like a pig in labor. I'm going to just run without the bar and hope for the best. Stopwatch says I'm slow - I'm just hoping to get the handling resolved by the race on Sunday.

Will try to post updates through the weekend.

Bill H bought my FP miata last year. Its the sister car to Charlie Campbells. I built both at the same time. It was the best handling car I've ever had. I hope Bill has as much fun with it as I did.

Guy and Rick took a few laps and came in.

I didn't plug in my transponder but luckily they had backup times. I have no idea if they are right as my CF card fell out of my RT. I was a second faster in practice according to the same watch

Taking the bar off helped tremendously but now I'm crazy loose off. Dropping some spring rate in the back. FP cars killing me in the fast stuff.

Group 1 race about half way thru 35 (!!!) laps. We are group 5.

Goodale ran unopposed and came in half way with brake problems.

I'll post full results when I get them

My trick with the alternator was my undoing as I ran out of battery and had to let the front guys go.

I had traffic the whole 3 laps I was out before breaking a driveshaft yoke. My day is over.

Bill,

Thanks for handling all the updates for the weekend, the racing was great!! Chris the car is on rails, an absolute ball to drive. I ran on BFG's and was amazed at how well they worked with the little Miata!
