Anyone going to be there? I'll be there tomorrow for the Track Owners/Managers meeting Wednesday. Have a follow up meeting Thursday at 5 PM. Rest of the time I'm trolling.

I got this e-mail and figured I would pass it along if any one is there and wanted to attend the meeting.

Throughout the Fall, SCCA has announced plans for the U.S. Majors Tour – the premier Club Racing events in the United States. The Majors program will replace the current “National” racing program in 2014, and run concurrently with the SafeRacer National Racing Series in 2013.

Thursday’s announcement will reveal the schedule in each of the four geographic Conferences – the Eastern, Mid-States, Northern and Western Conferences. The announcement will also include the unveiling of the 2013 BFGoodrich Tires Super Tour events.

Also on hand will be Paul Pfanner, of RACER, to debut the new look of SportsCar Magazine, the member magazine of the SCCA, and expanded coverage on RACER.com.

At noon on the same day, the SCCA will be hosting a town hall and presentation on the new U.S. Majors Tour for drivers, members, and those interested in learning more about the program. The presentation will be held in Room S322 at the PRI Show.

Damn, my boss would shit if I asked him for the time off to attend this... and I could be there in ~40 minutes too!

I plan on being there with my son in law Saturday though.

I'll be down there Wed morning. Got vendor meetings most of Thurs but I'm not missing the SCCA media event or the session on info later. Especially after the Majors meeting debacle at the Runoff's. Maybe i can actually get a question answered this time?

I'm there Thurs and will attend the meeting although they made a big deal a few minutes ago about it being a meeting for the media and, oh by the way, members could also ask questions. Harold's take? Another pro series in the making (and you know how good SCCA is at running pro series's)and those of us who have to pay our own way in $ and time will be sucking hind tit. Oh I forgot, we can always go regional racing which is what we did when SCCA last ran nationals as really pro racing (I think it was the 60s-70s). Who doesn't believe that majors will benefit those with sponsorship, teams to tow to the race, rent-a-racers with big bucks, etc. The time of the small do-it-yourself-racer-going-to-the-runoffs will come to an end with majors. And they haven't even discussed the "invitational" concept of fewer classes with more track time that they talked about last year. I guess they are awaiting the appropriate time to slip this one in with a big glob of vaseline for us do-it-yourselfers.

Have gone every other year, but decided to sit this one out. Glad we did, as it will be in our back yard next year, back in Indy where it started...

Have fun!
