Need Rod End substitution guru

I have an application for a high performance street car where this (3072-10) sperical bearing is used on the rear hub outboard control arm. The bottom lower control arm PN is 3070-12. https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/produ ... oduct=3072 .

I wondered if anyone has seen and can direct me to a polyurethane or nylatron isolated version of this bearing? The issue here is isolation from the chassis....they need to be QUIET for a street car.

Thanks, Jay

Carroll Smith made reference to them, with additional lining in them, in some of his writings. But, the linings tend to push out over time. Some of my GT1 cars had 5 link rear suspension, with 16 heim joints in them, with minimal lining. After about 4-5 seasons of use, you could hear them rattling, sometimes even over the engine noise.

When I read your comment, and thought about it, this rod end, link below, came to mind. Have seen them used on street rods, with good success, and quiet. Don't know how tolerant they are for misaligment. And how much misaligment your application is subjecting them to. They may be able to be machined down to fit your needs. There may be a version of this type rod end in a sperical bearing configuration. Speed way or HRP (more knowledgable), may be able find a suitable listing for this requirement from their suppliers.

Aurora catalog listing doesn't give a specific dimension for additional lining material.

Not sure if the ones currently used are PTFE lined, but I've had great luck with them.

Here's a lower-cost cross reference for them that drops right in: http://www.rodendsupply.com/hin-t.php
I've used Rod end Supply for years. great folks and they know their stuff. Used hundreds of their rod ends for sway bar links and such, and using them in my suspension now. haven't had a problem yet.
