LP hp numbers

Anybody willing to disclose the dyno numbers for their 1275lp engines? I'll start. Bachman cam and carbs. 12:1 compression. On JB Racings dyno 106.8hp.

No data on the the 1275 but the 948 engines designed and built by Dave Tabor and Harland Sharp turned out 100 hp at 9,500 rpm on the dyno. Lap times at Sebring almost identical in the same car. Putting one of them in the car we're building now. Cam is so wild the #4 cylinder doesn't come on line until almost 4000 rpm.

Bob - Impressive numbers!! How do you keep the 948 together at that rpm? I’ve always heard that the 948 came apart at anything over 10,000rpm!

Those engines were built in 1995 and I've been waiting for one to go ever since. Cranks were lightened, shaved, hardened and balanced. Got them with the blue 13 car in '03 and ran the engines until 2014. Ran them on the average of 10 events before tearing down for bearings, valves, rod stretch and crank cracks. Just went through one of them and installed it into our Vintage build we've got going. Still measures stock crank numbers which amazes me as you would think the 16:1 compression ratio would beat up the bearings pretty good. Have had both of them over 10K several times and folks always are amazed when I tell them we're running a 4:55 rear gear. Jon Stamps, original owner and third builder, said after running his last two races at Daytona and Sebring that he was turning 96K with the wind and 94K against it at Daytona. Impressive and lots of fun.
