How do you CC your engine?

I have been CCing my engines all assembled , tipped a bit to bring the plug up high. The CC measures very easy this way. I have done the Miata, VWs and others. This seems as tho it will have a much more accurate reading than adding up all of the pieces , due to tolerance stack.
In the car, just jack up the car to raise the plug up top, add ATF through burret and rol @ TDC a bit to settle the oil, measure and blow out the ATF, spin it over, reinstall plug.

My question, is this your method?
If this can be done in the car without removing the top end, seems like an easy route to take at teardown, now that rods are open. who cares whats inside?

FWIW
I was whistled @ NOLA and came home to check the car, spot on to the whistler .

There is a lot more to to check in a tear down than the rods. As a matter of fact, the allowance of alternate rods has brought in a new variable, the length of the rods. Rod length is not free. The crankshaft has limitations which also needs to be checked.

And in order to speed up the post race compliance, I would suggest everyone have the tools necessary to remove the plugs, cam cover if necessary and rotate the motor when you go out for qualifying each day. If you are in the top 1/2 or so of qualifying, you will be invited to visit the whistler table. It would also be helpful if you would determine the exact cubic inch of your motor as raced. Once whistled, the motor will be marked and sealed. If you end up in post race podium, you can get started on tear down. Full prep & rotary not applicable on whistler.
