Saturday was a very nice day. Great sun, mid 80's with normal NE, IA wind. Sunday looks to be the same with higher temps and may some pop up thunderstorms.

Sorry I just saw the start of the FP HP race and then had to go back to work. Sam Henry jumped out a head at the start and just ran away from everyone.

With about 3 laps remaining Henry came up on the two HP cars bumper to bumper – for the last three laps he eased up (about 5 seconds a lap) keeping a distance behind Aaron Johnson and Jack Shulz where he could enjoy their spirited competitive racing from the best seat around the entire track

Sunday was another great day at the track. But I did not see any of the racing. Since my car is not ready yet (still waiting for pistons), I spent the entire weekend in the tech "shed". I pushed a lot cars on and off the scales. Also helped with fuel tech and some rules checking. I have never worked an SCCA event before. I have always been a spectator, crew or driver. It was a total change of perspective. I think that every one should volunteer to work an event at least once.

ohhh, this may have been the best part of my weekend. I'm sure my crew guy Matt was getting tired of me giving him the play by play over the radio. Jack and Aaron were having a great battle! lots of side by side, inside tires in dirt, puffs of lock up here and there, and always close but no contact that I saw. Racing was so tight, I was sure that I would end up being a witness with the stewards, but they did great and kept it clean. It's really too bad that we broke our chase cam that morning in qual :(

Track seemed to be harder on tires after the flood. I saw lots of people going into tire conservation mode on sunday running minimum qual laps etc... Nice event. Glad they are doubles now! Good crew, and good food on friday and saturday. Nice job!

Turned out to be the right decision to run PPIR instead of this event - more car problems - but I hope you guys run this event next year as I certainly plan on attending.

It was a pretty good weekend.

Saturday race was good. I unloaded the car and it was good. The starter was being finicky but I decided not to change it, a decision I would regret later. Jack and I qualified within a couple tenths of each other so I knew it was going to be a good race. It been almost 5 years since I've been to MaM. The start was good and I worked the STL traffic well and built a pretty good sized lead over jack. With about 6 to go he caught me back up. The tires were pretty much gone and grip was at zero. I fended him off for a few laps. We were side by side a bunch and it wa very close racing and CLEAN. I washed wide and jack got by with 2 to go. At one to go I drove him VERY deep into turn 1 and made it stick to hold on for the win. Thanks for a great race jack. It was a workout!!!!

Thanks to Sam I saw him come up in the mirrors then a couple blue flags. After 2 straights I figured he was going to let Jack and I go at it. Super class act and a super nice guy. Without that I may not have te win as it would have been one lap shorter.

I corde all 4 tires Impound was interesting. They were checking for the 2" screen rule. Then 3 tech and a steward had a debate about the radiator opening on my air dam. Then made me pull the hood to check for inner fenders then debated the radiator opening again. About 45 min and all was good I think.

Sunday was a different story. The starter acted up. Sam's crew came to the rescue and push started me. Class act from those guys as well. Thank you.

At the start it was crowded. I put new tires on so was a couple seconds quicker. Half way thru lap 1 an STL car went inside me in the carousel and I thought he washed a little wide so I left room, but got in the marbles. I went way wide on exit and straddled the curbing and the frame bottomed hard and I went for a ride. Started the spin, right front hit the left rear wheel of the miata and I continued te spin. Stalled it and with no starter I couldn't get refired. The corner workers couldn't get it bump started so 3 laps later I got a flat tow and was going again. Came out behind an F car and an stl car and ran with them the entire race. Good clean and we all swapped positions a few times. Lap times were extremely consistent.
With one to go something broke, diff or driveshaft or gearbox. I haven't looked yet

I'm tryin to get te car together with the good motor and radials for Topeka in July.

Only other major thing is the electric tecma silent flush toilet in the rv is either plugged from the 9 yr old son Or broken. Anyone know how to fix those!!!
