The DC Region's SCCA Competition Driving School is March 23rd - 25th at Summit Point Raceway. This intensive, three day event will fulfill all requirements to earn an SCCA Regional Race License and give you a better jump on your racing career than the two day schools others may be offering. And for those who have already fulfilled a portion of their licensing requirements, we also offer a 1.5 day school at a reduced rate.

The Washington DC Region prides itself in the quality of racers we turn out, having introduced SCCA National champions, NASCAR Sprint Cup champions, and pro champions to the world of road racing. Our instructor core is second to none, comprised of many National & Regional champions that are known for the quality of their mentoring.

In addition to the increased track time and value for their dollar that our three day format provides over similar programs, students will benefit greatly from the Thursday night prep school, instructor drive arounds, and group and individual debrief sessions, made possible by our very low student-instructor ratio.

Finally, as an added bonus to our students, the Washington DC Region is offering a deal—Pre-purchase your first MARRS regional race and get your second MARRS race free (a $270 value). It's an amazing opportunity to apply all that you've learned in one of the most competitive series in the nation.

Registration closes soon. For more information and to register, please visit http://wdcr-scca.org/ClubRacing/DriverSchoolsCR/tabid/81/Default.aspx

Last weekend my son,Ryan passed the DC drivers school in Greg Plush HP 510.So now we have a new younger driver in prod. This is what the SCCA needs! He said it was the best time he had in a car and he has been drifting for 3 years. He ran a 1.28.7,so if we teach him some race craft he could be trouble.

Young Ryan did a fine job. He was turning 1:29's and was not even on the racing line.
My quote to him all weekend was "If you actually drove the line you would go even faster."
His drifting experience helped him quite a bit.

The weather was not optimal this weekend, lots of rain Saturday and most of Sunday.

He will make a fine racer.

Yeah, but can the son beat the old man on a dirt bike ???
Kudo's to you Ryan, I knew your dad when we used to race on two wheels, he will tell you !!!

They also build a kick-ass roll cage, I highly recommend them for anyone in the area needing one built !!

He looked good out there in the rain on Saturday.

Whats the word on all those LCs? Will they be MARRS entrants, or just folks getting an SCCA license in general?

Is this all part of Dave's plan for world domination through M/C engined cars?

The Legends Cars (LC) that participated in the school have all said that they will be racing some MARRS series events with us this year. All four LC drivers and the Baby Grand driver were exposed to road racing via the Turkey Bowl. They all had a good school and showed lots of improvement through the weekend. Several of them commented that no one has ever taken the time to help them with racing like the instructors at our school did. That says alot about the quality of the DC Region school.

I am glad to see new faces coming into our group. We need it, if our group gets any smaller we won't have one. Since their not many folks lining up to race traditional production class cars (HP, FP, and EP) we have had to look elsewhere to revitalize our run group. Between the SPU class, the STU and STL classes, GTPinto, and the Legends Cars (LC) perhaps we can begin to have a viable race group again.

I gave up all plans for world domination years ago, when I realized that the Chinese have a foolproof, unbeatable plan.

cheers
