WOW 14 Spec Miata entries for the Cat National. Past years before Runoffs there, 40-50 entries for the Cat. Local regional events SUCK. At 77 years of age I own a car but do not race, lost interest in driving. There's a real issue and in my humble judgement it starts with Topeka. Curious question, how many SCCA employees were in Englewood and how many employees are in Topeka? Might they be to busy running the office instead of running a business for we the one's who pay to race our cars and we who pay their salaries. Midwestern Council runs events equal to the SCCA and they sure don't have the man/women employees of the SCCA.

David,

Genuinely interested about what's behind your comment, "Local regional events SUCK." Are you just talking number of entries, or something else? I'm entered for the Cat, but thinking about running the Kettle Moraine double regional in August as well, because I need/want the seat time there. Bad idea?

Thanks,

Scott

Scott, seat time is seat time and always beneficial. My point was in past years previous to Runoffs 40-50 Spec Miata entries. This years Cat, 14 entries. On the other end, at Topeka, now many employees are required to run the SCCA? I'm a newcomer/short timer been around since 1997 and some are saying, bad economy, are we going to say the economy has been bad since 97? I'll be around on Sat. to check some front rotor disc's on 1.6 cars as the R.F. always seems to drag on the R.F.

$975 Runoffs entry fees are probably keeping people who have already qualified at home. We currently only have 43 total cars entered for the Heartland Park Majors this weekend.

National office debates aside, Entries tend to follow the runoffs under the move it every year scheme.

Next years Sprints, Cat and Kettle will probably see 300 to 500 entries.

Sm does seem down for the Cat for sure, but there are a lot of factors involved there.

Yes, do the Kettle. Seat time is seat time, and the Kettle is always laid back.

not being negative, just concerned.

1] double majors in Topeka this weekend

2] adequate/fun race track, facility.

3] great attitude from regional workers/officials

4] world hdqrtrs. scca 1/2 mile away

5] 43 [?] entries

6] again, whats NOT embarrassing about all this?

specifically who is responsible to change this , if anyone cares.

Both pairs of Colorado majors and Kansas majors were one weekend apart (before/after memorial day, before/after July 4th). That kept some folks from making the drive.

I’m waiting on some go-fast stuff or I’d be at heartland tonight.

Agreed that both regions do a really outstanding job.

How many racers are within a 4hr tow from this facility?
