Couple of little surprises, but so far it looks acceptable. Look forward to seeing how the car will do on track. Glad they didn't stick it in EP. That would have really hurt the owner's interest.

Alright Al, now yo can move up from the VW to the Focus. HAHA

I bet people will be tripping over themselves at registration with so many FTC cars registered

I think the focus would be a definite contender in FP on the right tracks. Quick google shows 150whp easily with off the shelf parts, I wouldn't be surprised if full FP build hit pretty close to 200.

I still think this is a bad classification

It was a high-compression and high-lift engine from the factory, that already had a decent intake and exhaust, so there's no way it's going to see the same "typical gains" that might be usual from a lot of other limited-prep cars. It made 170hp stock, so saying it'll make 200whp (~235hp) in Prod trim is...optimistic. It won't make anywhere close to that.

Very similar story to the 170hp 92-93 Integra GSR, which is also in FP, at an even lighter weight, yet no one is running. I've built one, and despite making 170hp stock versus the 140hp stock that came from the standard Integra RS/LS/GS engine, when both are built to the same 11.0:1 & .450" lift, the GSR engine doesn't make enough additional power to convince me that its extra 100lbs, less torque, and cost & difficulty in finding those rare 1.7L GSR engines is enough, versus sticking with the cheap & plentiful and more torquey RS/LS/GS engines, which is why I'm still running them. Honestly, it's kind of toss up based on just what your personal preferences are, or what you already have in your garage. Yet they had a 30hp difference in stock trim.

How are you going to deal with the 2 stage intake. Fix it at the short runners? That’s the only wonky thing with that car I owned one when they first came out. Good car with decent power
