This will be my last month as the CRB Secretary. It's been my honor to keep you informed since 2012.

Pam, thanks for all your work behind the scenes. You've kept us all informed and probably help generate thousands of hours of discussion. And I really have no idea how you kept from falling asleep during some of those long discussions.

See you at the track.

One thing i noticed that kinda makes me laugh.

Quote:
GT3
1. #26028 (Armen Megregian) Request for RX7 Turbo/Follow up to letter #25695
Thank you for your request. The 13B rotary has a displacement of 2.6l and is beyond the 2.0l limit for turbo consideration for a GT3 engine.

GTL
2. #25582 (Scott Schick) Request for Classification of Mazda MZR 2.0L in GTL
Thank you for your request. Engine displacement is too large for GTL.

In one class the rotary has too much displacement to add a turbo, in another a 2.0 liter is not allowed when rotary motors are 2.6 liters......

Why?
You only have one motor in GTL over 1840, an Opel
Rotaries are easily restricted by air flow, both are only street port and both have an SIR. Have you seen them winning any races?
A 2.0L MZR could make a lot of torque and depending on weight be a killer combo for the class and it is almost 200CC larger then any other engine in the class.
Might be funny but makes sense

I understand the reasoning behind the GTL dis-allowance of adding bigger bore motors and restricting them down in the name of making more torque.

I just find the humor that a rotary is 2.6 liters and not allowed a turbo in 1 class where adding a turbo to a bigger CI motor will make too much torque. Then its allowed in a class where 2.0 liters are not allowed because they make too much torque.

Basically
1 class the rotary is considered 2.6 liters and is outside of the rules
1 class the rotary is not even considered 2.0 liters and is within the rules.
