I entered a letter to allow any legal HP prepped car to run GTL @ weight minus 5% . denied why? Seems like they could use the numbers.

I entered a letter to move the 4AG cars to FP from HP. Denied.

I have no insight into why the HP->GTL request was denied, as the person responsible for creating event schedules for RMDiv this year, that would have required moving one or the other class to another race group. We are already struggling to provide compatible groups to accommodate double dippers and second car entries. While we are the smallest division, I don't see this problem being any different in other divisions.

I don't believe this was being done to allow for double dipping (but I could be wrong). I saw this more as an opportunity like what was done for IT - any IT car could run in Prod/STL at their existing prep level. It gave the IT folks the ability to try out a National class and "compete" for the Runoffs. Granted, there was no chance that an IT car could compete for the win, but...

Perhaps that is the problem with this request - the 5% weight reduction. If it was presented without this, would it have passed? Is there anyone here from the GT board that could comment further on this?

Compression check for LP motors at the Runoffs....

looks like the LP engine thread has someone thinking one would show up to the runoffs and not get checked for compression...

Also I like the 3 letters about moving the MR2 out of HP because of 1 event and only because of trap speed.... unless your racing a spec class, the magic classing formula will have a car that will make more power, but at a cost... This is SCCA racing as I have always known it.

It is the policy of the CRB that request for new and different levels of prep, cross categories classification, and opportunities to double dip, are only considered for automobiles manufactured by Mazda Motor Corporation.

That's just a place holder for the October prelims. The September Fastrack can be found in the link just above that wording: "View Current and Archived Fastracks"

There are approximately 9 CRB members. Only one of them races a Mazda. He's not the CRB chair, and he's not that influential...
