I don't think this has been posted - there is a newish item on the Club Racing rules page titled "Recommended Rules Changes" that lists chages recommended to the BOD for 2018. See near bottom of this page:

https://www.scca.com/pages/cars-and-rules

The url to the actual document is quite long:

https://dk1xgl0d43mu1.cloudfront.net/user_files/scca/downloads/000/039/332/Recommended_Rule_Changes_for_BoD_approval.2017.pdf?1512078877

Not too much Prod related, but it does reopen the "class management" can of worms in that it allows Club Racing and CRB to determine how many (and presumably which) classes get a Runoffs invite, and separately eliminates the 2.5 rule for Majors/National class eligibility in favor of a presumably subjective standard.

The three Prod classes are strong enough right now that we are probably safe, our GTL cousins presumably less so.

This all reads like Spec Mustang will be invited for 2018. Very big on West coast.

It appears to be a compilation of all recommended rule changes put together in one place, some of these items were approved last Spring.

Makes sense, was the class eligibility aspect discussed before? I can't remember, it seems to come up every few years.

To be a cynic, changes away from formulaic class eligibility rules always seem to be preparatory to goring someones ox...
