This may be late to the discussion, but the 1973 to 1979 differential are very close. I have a 84-87 Mugen lsd in one of my early boxes. The ring gear goes on the other side of the diff but everything ends up in the proper place. Mfactory makes an early diff now so possibly they could go the other way too. http://www.teammfactory.com/catalog/partno/MF-TRS-05SB1
