Entered Freedom Majors race. Never been to the track, have no knowledge of configuration to be run.
What's a representative FP or GTL top speed (so I can select diff ratio)??
Thanks!

Mid-high 120s in my EP monster.

I’d bet 120 max to be safe.

It's not very fast. If I remember correctly I was barely in 5th gear much at all in my FP car, so I'd say my top speed was only like 105mph. Like every other Mid-States track I've been too, I needed a much shorter gearbox than I've needed at any track east of the Mississippi.

Now, same question for Sonoma Runoffs configuration.

Never been to Sonoma - by watching some online vids of top speeds of SM's etc, I'd say about 10mph slower.

But again, I have never been there.

Back to High Plains Spec Miatas pull 105 at the end of the back stretch. I can pull 116 in my STL Miata. I think Bills recommendation of gear for 120 max is right on in a good FP.

Bill, finally got to look at some data from last year. End of the highway straight going into turn 4 was about 108 mph.

Normally HOT for this event date. High temp and no air. Stay hydrated because the altitude will sneak up on you. Times are usually slower but with the repave last winter we will see.

See you there!
Jon
