Gateway 1.6 Hoosier SCCA Super Tour presented by STLCOM.com

Hello everyone:

I wish I had a crystal ball and could tell everyone that the event will be held as scheduled today but, I don't have a working model and I don't trust my fifty-year-old "Magic 8 Ball".

Last Thursday, the owner and director of operations from WWTR had a meeting with county officials. The outcome of the meeting has been described as a "work in progress." Legal challenges aside, we have reason to believe the odds are better than 50/50 that the event will take place. That is not a guarantee, its just based on feedback we are receiving from the negotiations that are ongoing.

Needless to say, this will not be your typical Super Tour many of the things that normally occur will be altered to comply with SCCA's COVID 19 guidelines and to ensure the safety of our participants and volunteers. Some of those items include:

· No spectators will be allowed.

· Online registration only

· Cancellation of the Friday Night Social

· Social Distancing enforced (when interacting outside of family units and team members)

· Wearing of masks in public areas

· and the list goes on, check out all of the guidelines at https://www.scca.com/pages/covid-19-event-guidelines

Registration is open and we have currently 67 drivers have registered. If you are even thinking about attending please go out and register on Motorsportsreg.com. The link is msreg.com/GatewaySuperTour.

All entries will be via deferred payment and will not be charged until May 27, 2020.

Hoosier Tire Midwest will be providing tire service at the track if you need to tires for the event please contact Fred Awald at Hoosier. His email is f.awald1980@gmail.com and his phone number is 574-936-8344. Fred needs your orders ASAP so he can plan his staffing for the event. He has agreed that if you can't make it for some reason you will not be charged if you don't pick up the tires. Please do what you can to support our sponsors.

Keeping my fingers crossed,

Jim Lynch
Road Racing Chairman, St. Louis Region SCCA

Just saw this,The Illinios Sports Owners Association cancelled the 2020 North American triumph Challenge-VTR Aug 31-Sept 4th in Galena Illinois due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the state of Illinois rules for curbing the spread of the virus. Even in late summer, the states newly announced rules will prohibit gatherings of more than 50 people.

Can someone explain to me the math on this one?

SUPER TOUR WEEKEND: $515
Garage space: $150 weekend
Gateway Friday Test Day: $150
Total for all three above: $815

Just trying to register - I don't really need a garage, but I can't figure out about parking, getting 30a power for an RV spot - is that possible (at all) or are they just all sold out now?

All I can figure is that the $150 garage space is for Saturday and Sunday only, and with the super-duper package you get it for Friday too, so that's what the extra $50 is for...?

Those are already sold out as far as I can see trying to register. Maybe you got in before I did.

I haven't signed up, was just looking into it and noticed the prices didn't add up. But if the event happens, I'm currently planning on attending.
