Some great early shots of Paul Newman in his Datsun 510. Also, shots of present and future National Champions Randy Canfield, Ray Stone, Jim Miller, Fred Wentzel, Bob Boig, Steve Johnson, and a young guy named Bartell. Great memories of the old Bryar Park in New Hampshire. I won the regional and remember being in awe of Randy and Ray who apparently had a great battle for the National win in H. It was so great to eventually be able to race with those guys.

Great pics, thanks for the link. Brings back memories..

I helped wrench on the Steve Johnson #1 Spitfire after it was bought by my friend John Hagerman. That was one trick, rule bending, high strung, massively unreliable rocketship.

The roll angles on the Le Cars are comical. A friend had a pro series car - I drove it on the road once and said "You are going to RACE this??". Sometime later I saw a pro race at Charlotte where at least 3 or 4 of them simply fell over on their side in one of the infield corners. Good times!

Is the Rob Dyson car the Rob Dyson I'm thinking of?

Yeah, those LeCars look like they're about to roll in every shot!

There was a reason those LeCars were commonly called LeRolls. ;)

Sure is. After the 510 he ran a 200SX, believe he won runoffs ‘80 or ‘81?

Great pictures of Bryar. I believe I was flagging that race. Bob Wanta was a good friend of mine GP Spitfire 37. When I started racing 1979 he crewed for me and was my mentor.
We raced my SSC Fiesta at the Three Hour endures at Lime Rock. He was always faster. Got to race with a lot of the drivers from this race later.
