If we end up with no qualifying races.. if it just comes down to the Runoffs open for all, is it really a Championship? really, a one race championship? does not seem right someone could be crowned National Champion just running one race. In times of a freakin pandemic - it would be nice to have a big race open to all if we can but I'm not sure about crowning National Champions.

Yeah, that's exactly how it is now, and has been for a very long time.

*IF* we go back racing in May- key question here- there are still three Majors events left in SOWDIV.

I'm hoping for May as well - Pueblo has an event on Memorial Day.

Sadly I cant imagine we pull off racing by May.
Given the state of affairs I just cant see this cleaned up enough for May or even June. There are several states that are in lock down until June.
Hell Im hoping for July

Yeah this is where I'm at now. The problem is that the US still hasn't really seen the spread of the virus to rural areas as much as populated ones. When that happens...

I don't see anything that says there are layoffs. Or cuts to Pro. Or Enterprises...

Saying staffing is reduced doesn't mean those positions are gone. It can also mean they simply won't be coming into the office.

Most staff were laid off.

If it would make you feel better, phone and ask for a complete list.

Tim,

That is an interesting link. it is a shame it proves out liers, damn liers and statisticians.

Johns Hopkins University. Listing "cumulative hospitalizations". Take new york. Shows 76,000. Big, scary number. presented to be big and scary.

Go to New Yorks state data pages: Current total hospitalizations in new york: 5570. peak: 18,800. if you add up the cume based on the daily numbers, it is huge. Much larger than JH's numbers, but that counts each case multiple times. For the JH numbers to have any validity, they need to include their references and their calculations.

Currently, only the city itself is using up more than 70% of their ICU beds. And that is for all needs, not just Covid patients.

JH also shows 1.5 million cases in the US, vs 84K in China. That is pure bullshit. it is presented in a way that deliberately makes the US look worst than any other country, instead of showing per capita numbers, total number of tests performed, and number of negatives.

So, JH is flat out fearmongering and deliberately placing the US in the worst light.

Why should we believe them on rural spread?

All that aside, have a good weekend, and I hope you can get to a track soon. I have heard burned race fuel kills Covid.....
