Pretty good total car # turn-out (258) for this years Hoosier super tour race at COTA this weekend... switched to 2-day event instead of 3 days. 7 FP, 3 HP, 2 EP, 2 GTL cars... with 70 cars in total in the small bore group (Production, GTL-3, STL, STU, T2-T4)... should be an interesting run up the hill into turn 1.....No snow (last year) or rain predicted....

So, that's more than 25% of the cars in that one run group. T2 needs to be with big bore not prod. They just added the entire ST- T group to prod. So 39 big bore entries right now. Take T2 them out-put them where they belong and big bore has 52 and prod-ST would have 57. Makes no sense to run a 70 car group when you could have 57 with T2 in the correct run group. The race will be a cluster.

And why only 6 groups? We just ran 7 at Sebring with less daylight.

The problem is probably with the fall line guys running T1 and T2.

"SCCA Club Racing: Sacrificing the event experience of 50 entries, for the prospect of another 2 entries, since 1958!"

Event number is up to 263, but Group 5 is down to 66. Don't know if Micheal Lewis' GT3 entry in G5 is a mistake, as there's a GT3 car in Group 1 as well. But I'm sure Lewis is wanting GT1 and GT3 in separate run groups.

When you only have six groups, and 2 are automatically SRF3 and SM, that leaves only four groups for all the other classes. Move the GT3 entry and 12 T2 entries from G5 to G1, and then you've got exactly 53 entries in both groups. But I imagine Boden, Kezman, and Lewis are what's keeping that from happening. It's also a big track though, and T2 and GT3 aren't the classes that are going to muddy up a Prod race. STU, STL, T3 though...

GTL now in group 3. Mike is going to race 3 cars at the runoffs. T1,GT3 & GTL. Race Director ask GTL drivers if they would move so Mike could run 3 cars.

The MR2 still needs to be moved to F, even though Neil beat him. Faster trap speed than Reynolds in EP!!! That should be all that is needed to know. The car belongs in F as a limited prep build and E as a full prep.

So that would be what, 220-230bhp? That’s Formula Atlantic territory and the only way to get there is a full prep build with a 4AG. Why didn’t anyone protest him if that’s the case?

I talked to him and looked at the car. My feeling between him and his car is that it is a legal build .
My estimate is about 165-170 CHP, watching him pull my known good value VW,( my B engine) next to Tim Pitts VW.
He had a few MPH on both of us in the early sessions and still never hooked into the track lines leading to the straights at Sebring.
"Rocket car" IMHO . Looking for one now to run next to my Corolla .
I sent a letter and was turned down . Send trap speeds and letters. Please .
