At the beginning of this year I was 100% going. After my last qualifying weekend at Buttonwillow, it went to 0%. I broke the part of the rear main bearing area the routes the oil back into the pan. That engine was my only running engine. I was in the process of building a new engine for the Runoffs but it would barely be done in time for the Runoffs. There are ways I could still qualify for the Runoffs but I don't want to thrash to get to the Runoffs and have a chance that I still may not make it.

I like the Sonoma track and am disappointed not to make it for the big event.

Sorry to hear that. Maybe its time to switch to the big engine?

I'm still in. New build, rusty driver, first runoffs.... what could go wrong!

For the guys up north I am working transport from Seattle to Sonoma for cars and a few spares 1500 round trip. this saves some travel time for those with real jobs. PM for info. Truck will be a soft sided enclosed and we use the lift gate on the hauler to load and unload.

Sorry, won't be making the FP race this year.
My wife shows horses, she bought a new show horse last week end.
And you guys think racing is expensive.
BTW, she won in her first show with the new horse.

Full prep or limited prep? Those LP horses can be a lot cheaper. The FP ones are really skittish.

YES; Will be there in HP. Long tow, but the track is on my bucket list of places to race the next 10 years. Looking forward to being one of the few east coasters to make the tow in production and be one of the "Black" Spridgets at Sonoma. Any helpful hints on gearing and track nuances will be appreciated.

I suggest you check the July 2018 issue of SportsCar (or March 1984 if you still have it  ) for a turn by turn of Sonoma. Of interest to Prod/GTL drivers will be Joe Huffaker's input on the track, and his car.
