A bit under the radar but ran the COTA Hoosier Super Tour event a few weekends ago over in Austin, TX...

Results for Sat and Sunday races are posted here

http://sowdivscca.com/index.php/club-ra ... ce-results

Sat. HP Race was fun while it lasted.... I only went 4 laps before I over heated (head gasket)... Race was shaping up to be a 4 way battle in HP... we all qualified in the 2:44s and were nose to tail when I bowed out... In the end Nick put together a few late race fast laps (new track record) and beat John to the checkered... Steve Sargis had his HP spitfire out and looked super smooth (and fast) as usual... had a few teething problems.. but no doubt will make that car a rocket as he and his son campaign it this year.

First 4 laps of the race (from my in car) are posted here...

On Sunday... it was tough day in HP...all 4 HP cars did not make the finish (one reason or another)... but John lasted the longest (finally breaking his suspension). Podium ceremony was empty since everyone was being towed in (except me... I never started Sundays race...just rolled across the start/finish in the hot pits and parked it). Anyways fun event, well organized with some good racing across the race groups. The weather was a bit cold, foggy, misty, rainy, sunny,,,couldn't seem to make up its mind but part of the charm racing in TX.

On a side note... we reintroduced Dave Headley's old yellow # 39 (now FP after adding 200 lbs) back to SCCA. First time on track in a long time. My Brother in law (Chuck Brhem) did the honors and in his first race, first time at COTA and first time in car (note it is right hand drive) brought it home in one piece with ever faster lap times.... He won FP (only car in class) and got 2 hard charger awards. Good to see the #39 being wheeled around again. We'll do it again at Nola in a few weeks

Congrats Neal. Race Reports are the best thing about this website.

Great to see Dave's old car out there running around. That thing handled really well in EP; I followed it around enough to know.
