The trans looks to be in good shape. Opened it up and nothing fell out, gears/syncros look good. It is aluminum throughout. I can provide pics on request. I do not know the actual ratios.

Trans is a 5 speed and retails for around 4500 new according to Taylor. It uses 23 spline Ford input and Ford output. No shift handle. No bell housing. Has optional aluminum top. Was installed on Miata. 23 inches long excluding bellhousing

2200 includes shipping. Shipping to nearest large airport for pick up.

Looks like the gears are 2.2/1.47/1.21/1.1/ and 5th is either .87 or .93

Trans is sold.

Sorry this took so long. I opened up both boxes but would have to disassemble to count teeth. Both boxes are syncro with straight cut gears. They look to be in excellent shape with the iron case looking like it was recently rebuilt and has hardly any time on it. All gears and syncros look good. Reverse gears have some use but look fine and reverse idlers looks great.

Both use Ford 23 spline input.

Aluminum case has Miata bellhousing. Neither have the shift handle. Both have optional Quaife aluminum top.
Aluminum case has the following stamped on it: TRE02147 TRE02169 TRE03006 I believe they are supposed to be the gear ratios. No markings on iron case.

Send me an email at dhrrx7@hotmail.com for pics. Anybody who can tell me what these are would be greatly appreciated.

adding pics didn't work that well. Both trans have 4 gears in the main case, Can't tell if 5th resides in the tailshaft housing. Looking at the Quaife site just gets confusing...

Talked to Taylor Race Engineering and got the low down on the boxes. Both are 5 speed boxes with syncros and straight cut gears. The numbers stamped on the aluminum case indicate the box has been gone through by Taylor. What I thought were gear ratios are actually year and job number. So the aluminum case has been rebuilt 3 times. The steel case has never been rebuilt. Of the 2, the steel case looks to have hardly been used. The aluminum case looks to be in excellent condition. I still don't have a gear count.

Aluminum case no shifter/no bell housing 2200 shipped

Eyeball the tailshaft housing on the pass side very good for cracks - The aluminum ones are well known to fracture and start leaking very easily. I had one in my gtl car and kept 2 tailshaft housings as spares with me at all times.
